i’m ange and i live in montreal. as of february 1, 2008, i’ll no longer be mtlange because i’ll be back home in toronto.
this is what you need to know about me: i’m a graduate student at mcgill university in the political science department. my research focuses on political participation and the internet – specifically around youth and young adults.
my professional interests also revolve around all things onlne, internet, social media, technology, and software related. after i finish grad school, i plan to get back into the life of a working stiff. it turns out i miss it. a lot. academia has been fun, but sure isn’t right for me.
i also like toys. think: mobile devices, computers, mp3 plays (okay, ipods variants, mostly), technology, sound equipment, video games. one of the things i’m looking forward after i graduate is buying all kinds of new toys once i get a real job again. high on my list of items is a new phone. possibly one of the sweet new nokias or an iphone.
other non-technology interests include: politics (i’m of a decidedly left of centre bent), sewing, vegetarianism & vegetarian cooking, volunteering, environmentalism, good food & drink, exploring new places, travel, and books (more non-fiction than fiction, these days).
as far as offline entertainment goes, i like: the weakerthans, wired magazine, battlestar gallactica, lost, cut copy, james bond movies (& more, to be continued).
